United Kingdom Extends Toxic Alcohol Toxicity Advisory List with Eleven Destinations
The UK government has placed an additional eleven more nations to its travel advisory register about the dangers of industrial alcohol contamination from adulterated alcoholic drinks.
The expanded travel guidance features Bangladesh, India, Iran, Jordan, Libya, Malawi, Malaysia, Morocco, Nepal, Papua New Guinea, and Rwanda after what officials describe as "an international surge in the frequency of reported cases" of toxic alcohol poisoning.
Just a few weeks ago, the government had earlier included Ecuador, Japan, Kenya, Mexico, Nigeria, Peru, Russia, and Uganda to the existing roster, in response to multiple notable incidents such as the fatal loss of six tourists in Laos in 2024.
