The Popular Show Campaign 4 Introduces the Fighters Party

Since the launch of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a wide array of characters, and a thrilling plot including celestial beings, fiends, and dark forces expanding in influence within Dol-Makjar.

Heads-up: Key plot points for the third episode of the new season follow below.

The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced

The third episode ended with a dramatic pause and introduced the premier party of characters who will split off from the central cast to begin their own adventure, separate from the additional parties.

The combat-focused team features the determined fighter (played by Travis), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).

Why Split the Party?

Considering 13 cast members, it was clear from the outset that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unworkable.

That’s why, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Introduction, weaving together the individual narratives before branching into three smaller tables: Fighters, Schemers, and Explorers.

Characteristics of the Warrior Group

Per the DM, the Soldiers table is for participants who are drawn to a typically action-packed fight-heavy gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are scarce.

Initially, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might look out of place, but the developments of episode 3 demonstrate why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the warrior group.

Why They Must Go

First, the party has a clear idea where to go next after a violent initial meeting with the antagonists.

Casimir of Thjazi—whose death started the campaign’s events—used the foes for his own means, entering Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the character, and taking all the magical artifacts to dispose of.

Casimir then settled his liabilities and escaped to a secure base in the remote area, above the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.

Character Drivers

Secondly, each adventurer has a specific drive to exit the metropolitan area:

  • The agile hero, as the companion and closest confidant, wants revenge.
  • Kattigan knows Timmony and advises that it is a dangerous location.
  • The warrior and The cleric, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to execute the fighter and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
  • Yet, their status as prominent individuals in the powerful family could enable the team reach areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Furthermore, Teor pledged a eternal obligation to Wicander for his salvation and will now follow him wherever.

Wanted and Hunted

Finally, all of them are wanted by the powers that rule the city for a range of causes, making remaining behind dangerous:

  • The agile adventurer and The character are known criminals.
  • Tyranny and The healer defied the influential house and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
  • The target is marked for death by the family.

This means them no alternative but to journey toward the northern region in pursuit of the traitor.

What’s Next?

According to episode three’s post-show segment, we discover that the combat party will be absent the following episode, leaving the rest of the players to form the Seekers and Planners tables.

Audiences can expect discovering which adventurers will be where in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, released on next week.
