Paramount Skydance Set to Cut Around 2,000 United States Roles – News
Paramount Skydance plans to start mass layoffs the week of 27 October, eliminating nearly 2,000 positions in the United States within a expense reduction strategy valued at $2bn led by top executive David Ellison.
The workforce reduction are a result of the merger of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed during August valued at $8.4bn.
Further international job cuts are expected, with the company aiming to announce complete information during its third quarter earnings report scheduled for November 10.
Earlier reports had indicated that Paramount aimed to eliminate from 2,000 to 3,000 positions by early November.
By December 2024, the organization retained nearly 18,600 permanent and temporary staff along with 3,500 temporary project employees.
The company has not provided a response on the matter.
