I can't bank on a three-year period at Manchester United - the United boss

Ruben Amorim - seen receiving consolation after May's continental cup disappointment - states he is happy by the investor's extended support but emphasized that tomorrow is uncertain in soccer.

United's manager Amorim believes it's crucial the co-owner openly discussed his extended perspective - but notes nothing is assured about the future in the sport, let alone three years.

In an interview with a leading newspaper last week, the co-owner said it could take the manager a three-year period to create substantial change at the Theatre of Dreams.

Emerging in an era when Amorim's future has been receiving close inspection following an extended sequence of disappointing results, the statements assisted in calming certain present tensions.

Yet, discussing prior to the hundredth encounter with old rivals Liverpool at Anfield, the manager emphasized how what comes next is challenging to anticipate in soccer.

"It is really good to receive that message but he tells me continuously, sometimes with a message post fixtures - but recognize, I know and Ratcliffe understands, that soccer doesn't work that way," he commented.

"The vital factor is the next game. Regardless of investors, you cannot manage the next day in football."

CEO the club executive has conceded it has required much more time for Amorim to acclimate to the Premier League after his transfer from Sporting during the winter than anyone imagined.

Manchester United have achieved 10 victories in 34 league games with the Portuguese coach. They haven't managed two league games in a row and have not ended a fixture schedule during this campaign above ninth position.

The dire statistics are challenging confidence in the manager among the Old Trafford faithful entering a sequence of matches their club has been awful in for the previous two campaigns.

United's boss commented he isn't experiencing the uncertainty internally at their training facility and is adamant nothing can match the expectation he applies to the squad - and in certain ways, he would prefer Sir Jim not to be trying to create tranquility because he worries the influence it may create on the team.

"It's not just an item of conversation, I experience it daily," he stated. "It's certainly beneficial to receive it because it helps our fans to grasp the management understand it will require a period.

"Yet concurrently, I'm not fond of it because it gives a feeling that we have time to resolve issues. I don't desire that impression in our team.

"The expectation I put on the squad or on myself is considerably larger [compared to external sources]. In the sport, particularly at major teams, you have to show your value every matchday."
