Heartbroken Is Not an Adequate Description - Campbell Hatton Shares Emotional Homage
Ricky Hatton's son Campbell stated that heartbroken isn't the word as he paid an touching tribute to his parent.
Former world champion the boxer died at his residence in Hyde on Sunday.
Authorities confirmed there were not any concerning circumstances surrounding the 46-year-old's passing.
In his earliest public statement since the loss, Campbell posted a collection of photographs on Instagram on Tuesday and said: "Words can't describe this pain.
"People has always told me I was your spitting image - never a honest word said. Looked up to you in each way of life.
"Can't explain how much I'm going to cherish the jokes we had and all the good times, which I will hold onto forever. Just can't accept we won't have any more. Miss you, Dad."
Boxing Achievements
The fighter achieved victory in 45 of his 48 career matches during a 15-year boxing tenure, and was world champion at junior welterweight and welterweight divisions. He final bout in the ring in 2012, though had planned to step back into the squared circle in October.
Nicknamed 'the Hitman', he established himself as a hugely popular fighter with character inside and outside the ring - an approximate 30,000 fans journeyed to watch his title fight against the great Floyd Mayweather in Sin City in 2007.
His son was also a pro fighter and won his first 14 bouts. He stepped away earlier this year.
Relatives Message
The boxer's family released a statement on Monday in which they mentioned the wave of love and support towards him.
"He had a soul as large as his grin, and his kindness, wit and dedication touched everyone who was blessed enough to know him," they expressed.
